Areas of practice

Mr. Zheng Hui specializes in international M&A and financing, and family wealth management. Mr. Zheng has extensive experience in providing quality multinational legal services to both domestic and international clients. He has worked at the London head offices of two internationally renowned law firms for over ten years. Mr. Zheng now focuses on cross-border investment and financing and family asset management and planning of Chinese companies and their founders. 

Mr. Zheng has a wealth of professional experience, and is particularly sophisticated in serving clients in cross-jurisdictional transactions and projects. Mr. Zheng has led the team to provide comprehensive legal services to a number of domestic and international clients in cross-border investment and M&A, private equity, venture capital, project financing and other areas. He has worked with clients and been involved in projects, from a wide range of industries, including energy, logistics, automotive, consumer goods and high-end life services, manufacturing, medical health, media and high-tech. Mr. Zheng has unique insights into the specific needs of these industries and the international commercial and legal risks involved in transactions, and is adept at helping clients understand and effectively resolve differences between different legal systems and market trading practices in complex cross-border transactions.  

In addition, Mr. Zheng also has extensive project experience in cross-border family wealth management. He has assisted a number of Chinese companies and their founders in cross-border asset planning, management and succession (including the establishment of a trust platform for global asset and executive employee equity incentives).

Work experience

Prior to joining King & Wood Mallesons in 2017, Mr. Zheng worked at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP and Allen & Overy LLP. 

He received his LL.B. from Nanjing University and his LL.M. from Law School of University of Oxford. 

Mr. Zheng is qualified in England, Wales, Hong Kong SAR, Ireland and the PRC. He is also a visiting lecturer at University of Bologna and School of Law, Queen Mary University of London.

Mr. Zheng is proficient in English and Chinese.
